Baby Cora's session was an absolute dream! I was so excited to use my new swing prop and she was sweet enough to go along with my ideas LOL I did a little something new during her session as well and I mixed up my posing flow a bit to test out some things I have been noticing. Typically I will start my sessions doing all of the parents poses first so that mom and dad can be done & can relax and then finishing up with the rest of the wrapped poses before moving on to the props and blanket poses where the baby is undressed. What I have been discovering though is that I am letting baby sleep all cozy and wrapped up during the easiest part of the session. Then when I am unwrapping they wake up all refreshed and usually have a hard time going back to sleep for the naked poses. So in Cora's session, I started with the swing, the hardest prop of the session. She was wearing little jammies but I took those off after that and did all of the unclothed images first. THEN I wrapped her up, posed her with mom & dad and finished up with all of the different wrapped images. The entire session went so smoothly!
Sometimes, we simply get stuck in doing things the way we have always done them just because it's what we are used to. I can't fathom why I did not change this up sooner.....possibly because in the past I never did as many wrapped poses as I do now. I love the addition of wrapped babies because it is so easy to quickly swap the outer wrap while keeping the baby wrapped snug underneath and changing out the props and blankets for all-new looks. And the wrapped-up photo in the hat with the little stuffie - it's my most purchased image of all and one of my very own favorites!
